Call and SMS protection
Phone and text scams, stopped.
Fake delivery texts, a fake bank on the line: MedLiam protects you without reading your messages or calls.
Coming to the iPhone app. These protections are in testing with the next version of MedLiam.
Fake texts sent to junk
A text from a stranger posing as your bank, Canada Post, the CRA or a government agency, with a shady link or a number to call, goes straight to junk.
- Links checked against public lists of fraud sites
- Look-alike sites caught, like a bank spelled with an l instead of an i
- Verification codes sorted apart, never hidden
- Analysis on the iPhone by default; enhanced analysis, in Québec, is your choice
Fraud calls no longer ring
When our team confirms a number is used for fraud, it is blocked on protected iPhones. A business verified by MedLiam shows its name.
- Never on a single report: a person reviews before any block
- Weighted reports, so no one can get an honest number blocked
- Live lookup on every call, under review by Apple
“You’re on a call.”
This is the exact moment of the scam: someone on the line asks for the code that just arrived. If you open your inbox during a call, MedLiam stops you for 20 seconds, on screen and out loud.
QR codes checked
A QR code on a poster or in an email can lead to a fake site. Show its photo to MedLiam: you see where it leads, and whether it is dangerous, before you open it.
Call back on the official number
Hang up and call back yourself. MedLiam has the real number of over 300 Canadian banks, credit unions and carriers, each taken from the organization’s own website.
If you think you’ve been scammed
Emergency mode shows you who else is signed in to your inbox, forwarding to outside addresses, and the steps to follow for what happened.
- Sign out other devices in one tap
- Clear steps: code given, money sent, device hacked, identity stolen
- Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre one tap away
For a more vulnerable parent
The family level filters harder and warns during every call, even the ones you place yourself to a number a scammer gave you.
What MedLiam never sees
iOS gives no app your list of calls or messages, and MedLiam doesn’t ask for it.
- Not your calls: the fraud list is checked on your iPhone
- Not texts from your contacts, nor iMessage
- No text kept: a fingerprint only, to spot a campaign
- Hosted in Québec, with no outside AI
A note. No filter is perfect, and MedLiam can’t know how many calls or texts it stopped: iOS tells no app. Is your number marked by mistake?
Dispute the classification.
